Steers & Carcases
One of the main aims of Bolinda South Devons is the production of effecient, high yielding steers and carcases.
The 2002 Sydney Royal Easter Show saw Bolinda South Devons exhibit the highest scoring South Devon carcass. The steer, Bolinda Wizard, showed excellent growth weighing 414kg at 10 months of age.

In October 2003 we exhibited a pure bred SD steer at the Upper Hunter Prime Stock Show, Scone
NSW. He was placed 2 nd in his class in the live section. The steer, pictured below, is typical
of the steers we are breeding. He has length, muscle and an excellent temperament.
We sell the large majority of our commercial steers and heifers to Woolworths Supermarkets, many of the progeny being from Murray Grey females. Pictured below is a typical commercial (South Devon x Murray Grey) Steer. Showing excellent muscling and weight gain combined with adequate finish.

In October 2010 Woolworths have changed to a MSA Meat Grading System with many of our steers grading in MSA boning group 2 or 3.
